Senior Residential Estimator – AU Residential (Remote)\n\nRemote | Full-Time | Senior Level | Australian Residential Experience Essential\n\nOutsourcedIn is partnering with Australian residential builders to hire a Senior Residential Estimator to provide high-level remote estimating and cost planning support across national residential projects.\n\nThis role supports Australian-based estimating and construction teams, delivering accurate and commercially sound estimates for houses, duplexes, townhouses, and small-to-medium residential developments.\n\nProven Australian residential estimating experience is essential.\n\nAbout the Role\n------------------\n\nYou will provide senior-level estimating support to Australian construction teams, ensuring detailed, accurate, and competitive pricing aligned with Australian market standards.\n\nThis is a technical support role — working under Australian construction managers and senior estimators.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n------------------------\n### Residential Estimating\n* Deliver detailed construction estimates for Australian residential projects\n\n* Prepare estimates for:\n\n * New residential builds\n\n * Duplexes and townhouses\n\n * Medium-density and small subdivision developments\n\n* Complete comprehensive trade and material take-offs from architectural, structural, and civil drawings\n\n\n### Costing & Commercial Review\n* Price labour, materials, preliminaries, margins, and contingencies\n* Align subcontractor scopes with Australian market rates\n* Identify scope gaps, exclusions, cost risks, and assumptions\n* Recommend value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities\n\n### Tender & Budget Support\n* Assist with feasibility studies and early-stage budgets\n* Support tender submissions and pricing schedules\n* Prepare variations, re-prices, and cost updates\n\n### Collaboration & Systems\n* Work closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Estimators\n* Maintain and refine estimating templates and cost databases\n* Update supplier and subcontractor rate libraries\n* Review and guide junior estimating staff where required\n\nMandatory Requirements\n--------------------------\n* Minimum 10+ years overall experience in residential construction estimating\n* Strong, demonstrable Australian residential estimating experience (ESSENTIAL)\n* Experience estimating projects across multiple Australian states\n* Deep understanding of:\n\n * Australian residential construction methods\n\n * Trade sequencing and buildability\n\n * Local subcontractor scopes and allowances\n* Proficiency in:\n\n * CostX, Buildsoft (Cubit), EstimateOne, or similar\n\n * Advanced Excel for cost modelling and analysis\n* Ability to independently interpret:\n\n * Architectural, structural, and civil drawings\n\n * Specifications and schedules\n* Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail\n* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills\n\nHighly Regarded\n-------------------\n* Experience working with:\n\n * Volume builders\n\n * Custom home builders\n\n * Medium-density residential developers\n* Exposure to Australian contracts and pricing structures\n* Previous remote/offshore senior estimating experience\n* Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines concurrently
