renew - Chief of Staff
About renew
renew is a nature data and intelligence company on a mission to drive large-scale nature recovery. We combine data, scientific expertise, and cutting-edge technology to create meaningful environmental impact.
We have already delivered early products to our customers and are now expanding our customer base and further enhancing our platform and product suite. Our ambition is to reverse the current trend of nature degradation in the most nature-impacting sectors by ensuring the full value of nature and natural capital is factored into decisions around restoration funding, operational practices and supply chain management.
About the role
As Chief of Staff at renew, you will work at the heart of the company, operating as a trusted partner to the CEO and Commercial Director. The role sits at the intersection of commercial execution and strategic company-building, giving you unusual breadth of exposure to how an early-stage nature-tech company grows.
The role has two primary dimensions. First, you will drive business development with our strategic target sectors — including CPG, food and beverage, agriculture, forestry, and utilities — working alongside the Commercial Director to hone our pitch materials, sharpen our service offering, and help move strategic accounts through the pipeline. Second, you will lead special projects under the CEO, including roadmapping pioneering product features, developing strategic partnerships across the nature and climate ecosystem, and supporting M&A activity as we consider inorganic paths to growth.
Over time, this role has the potential to grow in a number of directions — for example, toward a commercial leadership role, a strategy and operations remit, or ownership of a specific product or market. Your trajectory will be shaped by your strengths and interests as much as by the needs of the business.
Please note that the above responsibilities are indicative. As a startup, our priorities evolve quickly, and roles evolve alongside them. Your capabilities, interests and performance will play an important role in shaping how your role develops over time.

- Shape Product Direction: Work with the CEO and product team to roadmap pioneering features, translating customer and market signal into a differentiated offering.

- Support M&A: Contribute across the deal lifecycle, from sourcing and diligence through to commercial modelling and integration planning.
- Navigate Ambiguity: Break down complex, messy problems into smaller pieces and define clear next steps, with limited supervision.
- Act as a Thought Partner: Be a sounding board to the CEO across the full range of company-building challenges.

- Data-driven mindset with an aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments and comfort with the ambiguity that comes with an early-stage company.
