Responsibilities:

Inpatient Coding:
Reviewing and analyzing inpatient medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements.
Maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards in coding practices.
Training and Development:
Developing and delivering training materials and programs for inpatient coders.
Conducting training sessions on coding guidelines, regulations, and software.
Mentoring and providing guidance to junior coders.
Staying up-to-date on coding updates and changes and incorporating them into training.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborating with other departments, such as HIM, clinical staff, and billing, to ensure accurate coding and billing processes.
Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding coding-related issues.
