POSITION: Engineering Technician (Electrical)
Reports to: Chief of Maintenance & Engineering
Location: Jamaica

Job Summary
The Engineering Technician (Electrical) is responsible for installing and repair electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications using hand tools, power tools and electrical and electronic test equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment following electrical code and blueprints using hand tools and voltage tester
Perform predictive maintenance checks to reduce incidence of equipment
Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as compressors, motors and lighting fixtures using test equipment and replace damaged or broken wires and cables
Test malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment and discuss malfunctions with Manager and other members of the Maintenance team
Replace faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches, motors and sensing devices using hand tools
Inspect periodically electrical equipment to ensure it is operating correctly
Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area, adhere strictly to OSHA, Lock-Out, Tag-Out Process
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
Record all maintenance related information in logs provided
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plants facility equipment
Render assistance and manage contractors' roles for electrical duties
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BSc. in Electrical Engineering or related field
Solid technical skills with a minimum of three (3) years experience in related areas
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Basic understanding of general maintenance and other related areas
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES/SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Knowledge of electrical safety codes and regulations
Ability to pay attention to details
Good organizational and coordinating skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex issues
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Team player with initiative and a positive attitude
Must be results-oriented
High level of professionalism and integrity
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
