Chief Financial Crimes Officer (CFCO)\n\nIndustry: Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Investment\n\nJob Type: Full-Time\n\nReporting To: Chief Risk Officer (CRO) / Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) / Board Risk & Compliance Committee\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe Chief Financial Crimes Officer (CFCO) is responsible for leading the organization's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention framework, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT), fraud prevention, sanctions compliance, and anti-bribery & corruption programs.\n\nThis role ensures the organization is protected from financial crime risks while maintaining full compliance with regulatory requirements and international standards. The CFCO plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization's integrity, reputation, and operational resilience.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n1. Financial Crime Strategy & Governance\n\nDevelop and implement a comprehensive financial crime risk management strategy\n\nEstablish governance frameworks covering AML, fraud, sanctions, and anti-corruption\n\nAlign financial crime programs with enterprise risk and compliance strategies\n\nPromote a strong financial crime compliance culture\n\n2. AML/CFT & Sanctions Compliance\n\nOversee AML/CFT programs, including KYC, CDD, EDD, and transaction monitoring\n\nEnsure compliance with international standards (e.g., FATF) and local regulations\n\nManage sanctions screening and compliance frameworks\n\nEnsure timely reporting of suspicious activities (STR/SAR)\n\n3. Fraud Risk Management\n\nOversee fraud prevention, detection, and investigation frameworks\n\nImplement controls to minimize internal and external fraud risks\n\nLeverage advanced analytics and monitoring tools\n\nCoordinate fraud response and recovery efforts\n\n4. Financial Crime Detection & Investigations\n\nLead investigations into suspicious transactions and financial crime activities\n\nEnsure proper escalation and reporting to regulators and authorities\n\nCollaborate with law enforcement and financial intelligence units (FIUs)\n\nMaintain robust case management and documentation processes\n\n5. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting\n\nEnsure compliance with all financial crime-related regulations\n\nManage regulatory inspections, audits, and reporting obligations\n\nMaintain audit-ready documentation and controls\n\nMonitor regulatory developments and adapt frameworks accordingly\n\n6. Technology & Analytics\n\nOversee financial crime technology platforms (AML, fraud detection, sanctions screening)\n\nImplement AI/ML-based monitoring and analytics tools\n\nEnhance detection capabilities through data-driven insights\n\nDrive digital transformation in financial crime management\n\n7. Training & Awareness\n\nDevelop and deliver financial crime training programs\n\nPromote awareness of AML, fraud, and compliance risks\n\nEnsure employees understand reporting obligations and procedures\n\nFoster a culture of vigilance and accountability\n\n8. Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement\n\nAct as the primary liaison with regulators, FIUs, and law enforcement\n\nProvide financial crime insights to executive leadership and Board\n\nCollaborate with risk, compliance, audit, and business units\n\nRepresent the organization in industry forums\n\n9.
