Your new role

As our new Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be working as part of a team, you will be expected to manage your own project work, undertake conceptual and detailed design to the required standards and to maintain excellent levels of client service.

You will be part of a team which has a strong focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of client care.  You will be an important part of a close-knit team working on a wide variety of project work in.  There’s also the opportunity to get involved in international signature projects if desired. We have a supporting and collaborative culture and enjoy what we do! Your key responsibilities will be:

  • To take a key role representing Ramboll on Critical Systems projects leading your own discipline and also managing engineers of a complimentary discipline

  • Able to work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role

  • Complete conceptual and detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function

  • Have an ability to inspire confidence both internally and externally, and then use this to strengthen and delight client relationships

  • Manage time on projects to suit deadlines and complete their assigned tasks

  • Co-ordinate the tasks so all deadlines are met and allocate resource appropriately

  • To have a deep interest in or experience using digital and parametric design tools

  • To create and develop innovative and complex technical suited solutions and design work

  • To collaborate with other project internal and external disciplines

  • To develop low energy, low carbon solutions to meet net or nearly net zero targets

  • To spatially and technically coordinate the MEP solution

  • Being a qualified Engineer having a proven and demonstrable track record in their discipline

  • To have industrial, critical systems, and building experience

  • Experience in fuel systems design

  • Experience in firefighting water system design

  • Having a CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree

  • To have achieved CEng status

  • Able to proactively work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role

  • Able to inspire confidence both internally and externally, and then use this to strengthen and delight client relationships

  • To be an excellent and positive communicator and possess to the ability to make what is complicated simple

  • To have an interest in or experience using digital and parametric design tools
