ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are partnering with a leading international organization in the telecommunications sector, known for its large-scale digital transformation initiatives and strong engineering culture. This is an excellent opportunity to join a distributed team delivering high-impact solutions in a modern, cloud-based environment. You will play a key role in maintaining and evolving collaboration platforms used by cross-functional teams, ensuring performance, security, and scalability. The position is fully remote within Portugal, offering flexibility while working on complex and meaningful projects.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You will be part of a nearshore delivery team supporting a high-demand environment where Atlassian tools are central to project execution and collaboration. The focus is on administering and enhancing Atlassian Jira Software (Cloud) and Confluence (Cloud) environments, ensuring optimal performance and usability.

The role involves configuring workflows, customizing fields and dashboards, and implementing automation using tools such as ScriptRunner (latest version) and Automation for Jira. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, integrating Jira and Confluence with third-party systems via REST APIs, and supporting Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum/Kanban). The environment emphasizes system reliability, data security, and efficient project portfolio management.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• Proven experience administering Atlassian Jira Software (Cloud) and Confluence (Cloud)
• Strong expertise in configuring workflows, schemes, custom fields, and dashboards
• Hands-on experience with ScriptRunner and Automation for Jira
• Solid knowledge of REST API integrations and third-party system connectivity
• Proficiency in scripting with Groovy and/or JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
• Ability to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system usage
• Understanding of data security best practices within collaboration platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
• Fluency in English (mandatory)

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Experience with Atlassian add-ons such as Structure and Insight (Assets)
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Previous experience in telecommunications or large-scale enterprise environments
• Familiarity with portfolio/project management tools and methodologies
• Basic knowledge of ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
• Fluency in German (nice to have)
