We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll and HR Specialist to join our Accounting and HR teams in a hybrid capacity based in our Denver headquarters office. This is a unique cross-functional role serving as a liaison between Payroll and HR. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and bring a high level of accuracy and accountability to payroll and HR operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration

Own end-to-end multi-state U.S. payroll processing and support international payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Manage payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Deel), including reporting, system optimization, and integrations.

Administer payroll tax filings, audits, year-end processing (W-2s), and 1099 reporting.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws; monitor regulatory updates.

Support commission payroll in partnership with RevOps, including validation of sales compensation calculations.

Maintain payroll controls documentation and provide audit support.

Partner with Accounting and Finance to support monthly close activities, including payroll journal entries, bonus and commission accruals, and reconciliations.

Assist with payroll-related reporting and analysis as needed.

HR Operations & Systems

Administer benefit deductions including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), garnishments, and other voluntary deductions.

Coordinate with HR and benefits providers to ensure accurate enrollments and deductions.

Manage full-cycle onboarding and offboarding processes.

Maintain and optimize HRIS systems (BambooHR and Deel).

Serve as the primary payroll point of contact for employees and contractors, handling inquiries confidentially and professionally.

Office & Administrative Support

Support day-to-day office operations, including mail distribution and maintaining shared office spaces as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities

Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and U.S. payroll compliance.

High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.

Process improvement mindset with experience driving automation and efficiencies.

Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems (ADP, Deel, BambooHR preferred).

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

3–5+ years of experience in U.S. multi-state payroll administration.

Experience supporting international payroll (preferred).

Experience with commission payroll and sales compensation calculations (preferred).

The base salary range for this position is $70 000 – $80 000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Salary information is provided per state regulations in CA, CO, CT, MD, NV, NY, RI, and WA.
