Operations Manager - Residential Cleaning Services

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing residential cleaning and maid services company serving Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and the surrounding communities.

To support that growth, we are searching for a driven and hands-on Operations Manager to serve as the operational backbone of the business. This is a newly created leadership role — a genuine opportunity for the right people manager to step in, take full ownership, and grow alongside the company in the home services industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a field team of residential cleaning professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance
  • Own the full recruitment and onboarding cycle — from sourcing and interviewing candidates to training and integrating new hires
  • Optimize daily scheduling and route logistics using field service software to maximize team productivity and minimize downtime
  • Design, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting regular field audits to maintain consistent, 5-star service quality
  • Monitor supply inventory, labor costs, and operational margins to protect and improve profitability
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex customer issues and internal team conflicts, resolving them with professionalism and speed
  • Report directly to ownership, providing performance updates tied to key operational metrics

Minimum 3–5 years of operations management experience specifically within the residential home cleaning industry — commercial cleaning backgrounds alone will not be considered Demonstrated experience managing teams of 30 or more people Native or professional fluency in both English and Spanish — you must be able to communicate technical instructions to field staff and deliver professional reports to leadership Proficiency in field service software (such as ZenMaid or Jobber) and Excel for cost tracking and operational reporting Proven ability to solve problems quickly and independently in a high-volume, people-intensive environment A "boots on the ground" leadership style — this role requires presence in the field, not just the office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Portuguese is an advantage
  • Prior experience preparing a business for franchise or multi-location expansion
  • Familiarity with KPI-based performance management systems

Base Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Work Schedule: Full-time, on-site, five days per week Location: Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding service areas
