Location & Flexibility

This is a hybrid role. This model requires the ability to work in a hybrid mode from our office in Buenos Aires (1 to 2 times/ week). Our office culture is designed to foster in-person innovation, collaboration, and connection with team members, local and visiting, from other global offices.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer with deep expertise in building and maintaining high-performance, transactional systems within the telecommunications domain. The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge of TM Forum (TMF) API standards and frameworks, combined with strong technical skills in Java-based enterprise architectures and modern cloud-native development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain highly transactional services

  • Ensure all new development leverages a modern stack including Kotlin and Spring Boot for building services.

  • Architect and implement complex solutions using Java frameworks deployed on Weblogic and TomEE application servers

  • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs adhering to TM Forum (TMF) Open API standards and specifications, including but not limited to Product Ordering, Service Inventory, Customer Management, and Party Management APIs

  • Build high-performance microservices using Golang to complement Java-based systems where architectural requirements demand

  • Design and optimize complex database schemas, stored procedures, and queries for PostgreSQL and Oracle databases

  • Implement and maintain cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub

  • Establish and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration, automated testing, and seamless deployment workflows

  • Develop comprehensive unit tests and promote test-driven development (TDD) practices to ensure code quality and reliability

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to intermediate and junior developers, fostering their professional growth

  • Conduct thorough code reviews and establish coding standards and best practices across development teams

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Architecture, and Operations to deliver end-to-end solutions

  • Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems and resolve critical incidents

  • Document technical designs, architectural decisions, and system interfaces for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes

Qualifications

  • Advanced Java Development: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience, including Java EE/Jakarta EE, and proficiency in modern frameworks like Kotlin and Spring Boot for microservices.

  • Application Servers: Experience with Weblogic and TomEE.

  • TM Forum (TMF) APIs: Strong experience implementing TMF Open API standards (e.g., Catalogue, Product Ordering, Customer Management).

  • Databases: Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle Database (including query optimization and PL/SQL).

  • Cloud Platform: Experience with cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub.

  • DevOps and CI/CD: Proficiency with tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins or Cloud Build, and experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Code Quality: Commitment to TDD and unit testing (JUnit, Mockito).

  • Minimum Experience: +5 years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record in high-volume transactional systems.
