Job Description

We are looking for an Internal Audit Manager (m/f/d) to join our team at SIXT. In this role, you will independently plan, execute, and report on risk-based audits across a variety of business areas. A key focus will be supporting company-wide AI and digitalisation initiatives through both audit and advisory activities, while also leveraging modern AI tools to enhance the efficiency and quality of audit processes.

You will evaluate internal controls, assess emerging risks (including those related to AI), and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong governance and compliance. Additionally, you will help shape the audit function’s AI strategy, drive innovation in audit methodologies, and contribute to the development of the team. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

You plan and execute risk-based audits across operational, financial, IT, and compliance areas
You evaluate the effectiveness of the internal control system (ICS) and adapt audit approaches to evolving risks
You coordinate audit activities with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency
You audit AI systems and assess risks such as model risk, data bias, and regulatory compliance (e.g. EU AI Act)
You leverage AI-powered tools to enhance audit quality and actively shape the audit function’s AI strategy
You prepare reports, present findings to senior stakeholders, and track the implementation of agreed actions

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

Experience You have a relevant degree and 4–6 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or a comparable field
Audit Expertise You possess strong knowledge of risk-based audit methodologies and internal control systems, with regulatory familiarity as a plus
AI & Technology You have hands-on experience with AI tools and a solid understanding of ML concepts and LLM-related risks
Data Skills You are proficient in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar
Soft Skills You bring strong analytical thinking, structured judgement, and excellent communication skills
Mindset & Language You demonstrate integrity, initiative, curiosity for new technologies, and are fluent in English (German is an advantage)
