Role Overview
The Schumacher Hospitality team is excited to add a Hospitality Carpet Production Manager to our team. This position will report to the President and work closely with our Design Director and Portfolio Director. They will partner closely with the Schumacher Hospitality sales team and Patterson Flynn team to bring our client’s carpet designs to life. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for launching our custom contract rug processes and offerings.
YOU WILL:
Be responsible for communicating directly with vendors to develop carpets that meet the design, durability and budget requirements shared by clients.
Manage the product development process from concept to PO placement to freight coordination for Schumacher Hospitality carpets.
Be responsible for sending artwork, color matches, and other pertinent information to vendors (digitally or packages).
Keep track of developments - gather technical specifications, costing, and production details. Ensure developments remain on schedule on meet client specifications.
Share details, timelines and information with the Schumacher Hospitality sales team.
Review samples and development with design and sales teams. Communicate feedback with mill partners.
Lead Hospitality carpet implementation and ongoing organization for successful launch and scaling of Schumacher Hospitality carpet segment.
Provide advice to and share information with the Schumacher Hospitality sales team about different carpet constructions and performance attributes.
Meet with the sales team regularly to suggest innovative solutions and constructions for client requests.
Create quotes and share pricing, lead time, and all relevant information with sales team.
Partner with Portfolio team to create and maintain detailed internal specification sheets, pricing information, and product documentation and databases.
Manage the Hospitality carpet sales funnel and report on the Hospitality carpet pipeline.
YOU HAVE/ARE:
Minimum 3 years experience in rug sales, production, design, luxury carpet experience is a plus
Thorough understanding of rug constructions and techniques - understanding of different fiber types and performance characteristics
Strong understanding of product development processes, sampling workflows, and vendor communication
Excellent communication skills with carpet designers, carpet vendors, logistics companies and internal stakeholders
Strong attention to detail in technical documentation and specifications
Strong proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability and willingness to learn other software systems
A no-task-is-too-small attitude and willingness to pitch in as needed
Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure, multi-task, follow directions, stay organized, and happily execute revisions with a high level of accuracy
