The Role:
Payroll Configuration Associate
Are you someone with strong analytical skills and a tech‑savvy wizard when it comes to Excel? Are you comfortable working in a technical payroll environment and looking for the next chapter in your career—one where you can apply all your skills to help create multi‑country payroll solutions using the latest low‑code/no‑code frameworks?
If yes, then the Payroll Configuration Specialist role is perfect for you!
If you’re a recent graduate who enjoys working with data, systems, and solving problems, this could be the ideal role for you.
Strada Pay is an innovative product featuring Strada’s own IP cloud payroll engine built on a low‑code/no‑code setup. This allows country payrolls to operate in a touch‑less manner, meaning payroll rules and requirements are configured rather than coded. Strada Pay is our cloud‑based payroll platform.
We are building a Centre of Excellence (COE) team dedicated to setting up and maintaining country payroll solutions within Strada. As a Graduate Payroll Configuration Associate, you will receive full training in all aspects of Strada Pay and will focus exclusively on configuring payroll solutions accurately and consistently.
The COE team is an extension of the Payroll Product organization and is responsible for ensuring Strada’s Cloud Payroll Country Solutions are set up correctly, following best practices and standards, and bringing consistency across all country payrolls.
As a Payroll Configuration Specialist, you will be part of the COE team, where your primary focus will be configuring and setting up standard country payroll solutions. You will work closely with Payroll Country Owners (PCOs), Product Management, Engineering, and QA teams. You will utilize the Strada Pay Excel workbooks to configure country‑specific requirements and rules. This includes updating and maintaining payroll data model workbooks, payroll calculation workbooks, and payroll output (reports and interfaces) workbooks to deliver a compliant country payroll while adhering to best practices and standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of Strada Payroll’s proprietary solution at both functional/technical and business levels.
- Support Payroll Country Owners (PCOs) by interpreting country payroll requirements or client reporting needs and configuring required solutions using Strada Pay’s low‑code/no‑code Excel workbooks.
- Test payroll configurations and updates to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and resolve payroll system issues and discrepancies.
- Maintain and adhere to Strada Pay best practices and standards to ensure consistency across countries.
- Collaborate with product team members to understand complex requirements, gaps, or issues and help enhance Strada Pay framework capabilities.
- Ensure work is tracked, reported, and managed according to the Strada Product SDLC and DevOps processes.
- Identify, escalate, and manage issues and/or risks impacting country localization delivery plans.
- Provide coaching and guidance to PCOs and other business stakeholders on Strada Pay solutions and capabilities.
- Develop documentation and guides for Strada Pay framework capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team and stakeholders to define new features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria and acceptance tests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (BE/B.Tech) with at least 65% from 10th grade through graduation, or in a related field.
- Experience in payroll processing and/or payroll system configuration.
- Excellent to advanced Excel skills (mandatory).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Knowledge of any country’s payroll legislation is an added advantage.
- Service‑oriented, proactive, and accountable.
- Excellent team player with strong collaboration skills.
- Self‑starter with a “how to / can do” mindset.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar tools (e.g., Jira) is welcomed.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a cloud payroll configuration and support environment.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
