Role Overview\n\nAs a Senior Front End Engineer (Web/API), you’ll design and implement fast, real-time web applications. Our platform at BitMEX is built with React.JS and finely optimized for performance. To succeed in this role, you should have a deep understanding of how common just-in-time (JIT) compilers work, significant experience with React, and a passion for exploring new technologies.\n\nYou’ll be joining our web engineering team, where you’ll build and maintain the user interface and backend services for our trading terminal. Your focus will be on creating highly responsive frontend components, ensuring smooth integration with backend systems, and optimizing performance and security for real-time data flows. You’ll work closely with product managers, traders, and engineers to deliver a fast, reliable, and intuitive trading platform\n\nResponsibilities\n\n* Development of the BitMEX Web Frontend and React components\n* New feature design and implementation, bug fixing, and performance tuning\n* Working closely with the API and Engine teams to integrate new features and unique consumer-facing products\n* Help develop and maintain APIs required for different trading experiences (Backend or Frontend)\n* Exploring and evaluating new stack components and architecture ideas as necessary\n* Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural discussions and decisions.\n\nRequirements\n\n* Intimate experience with JS and JS performance characteristics\n* Experience with NodeJS, React, and Flux architecture\n* Experience with Flow/TypeScript\n* Experience making complex, data-driven products accessible to consumers\n* Ability to simultaneously develop several products and concepts in development\n* Familiarity with current UX trends and curiosity for new UX concepts (conversational UI, etc)\n* A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
