It’s still day 1, come build the future of shopping with us!

πŸ’° Joko & our Finance Team

Founded in 2018, Joko has reached a scale and trajectory that few European startups can match:

  • Strong and rapidly growing revenue, having multiplied dramatically over the past five years

  • Already profitable with ambitious growth targets, and a path to becoming a large-scale global company

  • Live in the US, with plans to open additional international markets in the near term

  • Multiple revenue streams β€” Online commissions, Card-Linked partnerships, Gift Cards, and Media β€” with more business units launching in the coming years

  • A fast-growing team, with plans to significantly scale headcount in the near future

The Finance team ensures that Joko builds a strong, profitable, and strategically sound business. Finance is at the heart of our decision-making: we build sophisticated financial models, manage multi-country P&Ls, steer cost efficiency across the company, and provide the analytical backbone that supports our aggressive growth targets.

We are scaling the team toward ~5 people β€” a VP Finance plus four contributors covering the full finance scope across business partnering, FP&A, accounting & controlling, and treasury. You will report directly to the VP Finance.

🎯 What you will do

As Finance Manager, you will own a polyvalent, multi-skilled, and highly challenging scope of work. We hire Finance Managers as true generalists β€” you are expected to be comfortable across the full finance toolbox: business partnering, FP&A, accounting & controlling, and treasury. The exact balance of your scope will evolve with the team and the business.

Your responsibilities:

  • Partner with business teams: serve as a finance business partner to a defined scope β€” a business line (Online, Card-Linked, Gift Cards, Media) or a geography (France, US, future markets). Help your stakeholders take better decisions through data, modeling, and rigorous discipline.

  • Drive financial planning across your scope: own the budget and re-forecasts for your perimeter. Champion bottom-up budgeting with team-level cost ownership. Run monthly business reviews and BvA tracking with clarity and conviction.

  • Build and maintain financial models: contribute to our group financial model β€” combining cohort-based revenue projections, elasticity-based CAC modeling, and granular bottom-up cost budgets. Run scenario analyses to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Ensure rigorous monthly close: in coordination with our external accountants, execute monthly P&L and balance-sheet close, annual closing, and audit. Help drive the team toward group consolidation under international standards (IFRS) as we scale into a multi-entity, multi-country setup.

  • Manage cash with discipline: monitor invoicing, cash collection, and working capital. Cash is king β€” make sure your stakeholders know it.

  • Manage compliance and tax declarations: ensure local compliance (VAT, CFE, payslip-related taxes) for your scope, in coordination with our external partners.

  • Optimize cost structure: be the go-to person for negotiating contracts with suppliers within your scope. Make sure every euro is put to its best use.

  • Set up clean and safe financial processes and controls to prevent fraud and errors. Build processes that hold up as the company scales to 200+ people across multiple geographies.

  • Leverage AI to transform finance operations: we believe AI will fundamentally reshape how finance teams operate. You will be expected to actively use AI in your daily work β€” automating reporting and reconciliation, augmenting forecasting and analysis, and contributing to the team's broader AI-first ambition. This is not a nice-to-have.

  • Contribute to fundraising and external relations when relevant: support due diligence, financial communication, and investor reporting.

πŸ‘€ Who we're looking for

  • Languages: You are fluent in English (the main language we use internally), both written and spoken. French is a strong plus β€” important for accounting, administrative, and tax interactions. International experience is highly valued as we expand across multiple markets.

  • Experience: You have 4 to 8 years of experience, combining a strong first experience in traditional finance (corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, transaction services, or audit) and ideally exposure to a high-growth tech company or scale-up. We value the dual background β€” technical rigor from traditional finance + hands-on experience in fast-scaling environments. Experience in multi-country, multi-entity, or multi-BL settings is a strong plus. A double degree in accounting (e.g., DCG or DSCG) is a plus.

  • Strategic mindset: You think like a business partner, not just a finance controller. You can connect financial analysis to business decisions, and you're comfortable challenging stakeholders with data-backed recommendations.

  • Analytical and modeling skills: You love interpreting complex data, structuring insightful analyses, and building reliable financial or operational models to support strategic decision-making. You're at ease with cohort-based revenue, elasticity-based CAC, and bottom-up cost modeling β€” or eager to learn fast.

  • Stakeholder management: You build strong relationships, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and treat Finance as a business partner for all functions in the organization.

  • Accounting and key financial metrics understanding: You are able to evaluate the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. You love interpreting and leveraging financial data to support decision-making.

  • International finance: You have experience with or a strong appetite for multi-country financial operations β€” multi-currency, international tax, building finance ops in new markets.

  • AI-native mindset: You actively use AI tools in your work today. You have a clear point of view on how AI can automate reporting, augment forecasting, and accelerate finance work. You are excited to contribute to building an AI-first finance team.

  • Attention to details: You know that the devil is in the details, and you have a talent for spotting flaws.

  • Communication: You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and you can explain complex things with simple words.

  • Mindset: You have an entrepreneurial mindset, you like challenges, and you like getting hands-on. You're energized by the idea of scaling a company from tens of millions of revenue to billions.
