Procurement Manager
This Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Procurement function, including all things that are purchased on a centralized level, such as Sub-contractors, Equipment, Materials, Services, Supplies as main focus areas and including the procurement of raw materials to support the manufacture of Avery Dennison products.\n\n* Create the strategies and policies carried out by employees with purchasing responsibilities within the organization.\n* Oversee the purchasing of services and supplies necessary for operation of an organization including machinery, equipment, tools and raw materials. \n* Review proposals for price, delivery time and quality and then select suppliers. Approve and qualify vendors.\n* Assist in instituting and promoting cost reduction projects. Monitor the cost, schedule and performance factors of major subcontractors.\n* Coordinate with other departments to determine materials needed and schedules to be met.\n* Use RFIs/RFPs, leveraging, and benchmarking to deliver business results and competitive advantage. Establish and execute pertinent written agreements.\n* Research and develop sources of supply for assigned commodities.\n* Analyze suppliers and markets to identify trends, industry dynamics, opportunities for marketplace advantage, and new ideas for products, processes and services.\n* Gather information about competitors’ materials, technologies, supply base, sourcing strategies, etc. to benchmark competitors’ costs, service, etc.\n* Work to develop/publish/implement strategies that enable high quality, delivery, and productivity cost savings.\n* Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. \n* Develop and maintain appropriate and productive supplier relationships.\n* Identify business unit needs and opportunities related to indirect purchases, inbound, raw material freight and the procure-to-pay process. Develop and coordinate projects between Corporate or Company Purchasing and the business unit.\n* Improve cooperation across geographic and organization boundaries by identifying barriers and working with Regional Purchasing Leaders and Global Procurement.\n* Develop and maintain appropriate and productive supplier relationships, including involvement in critical negotiations.\n* Other duties as assigned\n\n * Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Ensure annual goals are complete and communicated. Ensure Global Performance Management System is up to date and regular feedback is provided to staff members.\n \n * Monitor and evaluate team members, and adjust training where needed.\n \n * Attract, retain and develop high potential talent.\n \n * Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.\n \n * Perform general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations. Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.\n\n * Act as a team role model and change-agent. Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
