Description
We are seeking a team player with excellent communication skills who can foster strong relationships with customers, product managers, agronomists, and engineers. Your core responsibilities will be the operation/monitoring of our vehicle-sized robot and in-field data collection. We will teach you the skills you need to be confident operating the robot and you will have the opportunity to shadow our team until you are comfortable collecting data and running the platform yourself. During weedings you will document the robot's progress, check for proper operation, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and suggest improvements when possible. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and curious about how technology is reshaping agriculture. You'll combine hands-on equipment operation with analytical thinking and strong interpersonal skills.
What you'll do
Setup and monitor robot platform on customer sites
Perform root cause analysis and implement necessary repairs
Initial customer site surveys (including aerial drone operations)
Ensure consistent operations for multiple robots over an array diverse field conditions
Transport equipment to and from customer sites
Interface with customers to coordinate operations
Contribute to product enhancement by sharing valuable customer observations, comments, and concerns with management and engineering
Onboard new growers to the machinery
Must Haves
Experience troubleshooting and working with complex systems involving software, electronics and mechanical systems and working with large machinery
High mechanical aptitude with hands-on problem-solving ability
Willingness to travel extensively and work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer-facing skills & team-oriented mindset
Frequently lift and/or move items over 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
Nice to Haves
Experience operating and maintaining complex agricultural equipment
Experience working with autonomous, robotic, or GPS-guided equipment
Experience supporting early-stage or pilot-scale technologies
Mechanical fabrication, welding, or light machining experience
