Project Controls Head
AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Controls Head to lead integrated project controls across major energy and infrastructure programmes within India. This role is responsible for establishing governance, systems, and leadership across planning, cost control, risk management, and performance reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities Integrated Programme Controls Leadership Lead the establishment and deployment of integrated programme controls frameworks across projects, aligning with AECOM global standards and client requirements. Provide strategic oversight across planning, cost, risk, change, and reporting functions to ensure consistent project delivery outcomes. Work closely with the Head of Integrated Programme Controls to sustain and enhance governance, policies, and assurance processes. Planning & Scheduling Management Develop and maintain integrated master schedules (Level 1–4) using Primavera P6 / MS Project, ensuring full alignment across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phases. Monitor critical paths, float consumption, and key milestones; implement mitigation and recovery strategies where required. Integrate contractor, consultant, and supplier schedules into a unified programme baseline. Cost Management & Commercial Oversight Establish and manage cost control systems aligned with project budgets and CAPEX targets. Implement and monitor Earned Value Management (EVM) frameworks in line with AECOM and industry best practices. Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and financial governance. Risk & Change Management Lead programme-level risk management processes, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of risks. Ensure adherence to AECOM risk governance frameworks and client-specific contractual requirements (including NEC or equivalent). Oversee change control processes, ensuring controlled evaluation and implementation of variations with minimal impact on schedule and cost. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Lead the programme reporting cycle, ensuring timely, accurate, and insight-driven reporting aligned with executive governance requirements. Develop and track KPIs and dashboards covering schedule, cost, risk, quality, and safety performance. Provide periodic updates to senior leadership, including Programme Directors and Client stakeholders. Portfolio & Programme Management Support portfolio-level planning, prioritization, and performance monitoring across multiple projects. Ensure alignment of project delivery with business objectives, client expectations, and strategic growth initiatives. Stakeholder & Interface Management Interface with internal functions including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, and Digital teams. Engage with external stakeholders such as clients, statutory authorities, contractors, and consultants. Provide expert advice and insights to senior commercial and programme leadership teams. Digital & Innovation Integration Drive adoption of digital tools including BIM, Power BI, and AI-enabled analytics within project controls processes. Enhance data-driven decision-making, predictive analytics, and reporting automation across programmes. Governance, Assurance & Continuous Improvement Sustain compliance with AECOM’s project delivery systems, policies, and assurance frameworks. Undertake self-assessments, audits, and lessons learned reviews to drive continuous improvement. Standardize SOPs and best practices across the Project Controls function. People Leadership & Capability Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Project Planning & Controls (PPC) team. Set clear objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and provide continuous feedback. Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture aligned with AECOM values. Technical & Professional Skills Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Power BI. Strong expertise in EVM, cost control, planning, risk analysis, and change management. Sound understanding of engineering and construction project lifecycles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Additional Information Willingness to travel across project locations within India and internationally, as required. Ability to work in a matrix organization across multiple geographies and time zones
