Registered Nurse (RN) – Detox & Inpatient Treatment
Location: Newport News, VA
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Pyramid Healthcare’s Detox and Inpatient Treatment Center in Newport News provides 24/7 medically supervised, evidence-based care for adults seeking recovery and emotional stability. Our structured, non-hospital setting in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads region offers a supportive environment where clients engage in therapeutic programming, counseling, and recovery-focused activities while being cared for by a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team! In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to individuals in detoxification and inpatient treatment, supporting them through withdrawal management and stabilization. You will collaborate with medical and clinical staff to ensure safety, continuity of care, and a therapeutic environment across a 24-hour treatment setting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments at admission and throughout treatment
Administer medications in accordance with provider orders and treatment protocols
Utilize and document CIWA and COWS withdrawal assessments as clinically indicated
Monitor vital signs and evaluate client condition; respond appropriately to changes or emergencies
Educate clients on medications, treatment expectations, and health needs
Coordinate care with providers during assessments and medication management appointments
Communicate client status to the interdisciplinary treatment team
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
Provide supportive care and reassurance during detox and stabilization
Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic treatment environment
Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Required
Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Virginia
Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
