Commercial Life Science MEP Lead
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced MEP Associate to join our South & Wales MEP team and play a key role in expanding our capabilities within the Commercial Life Sciences sector. This is a strategic leadership role suited to someone with a proven track record delivering medium–large, technically complex new‑build and refurbishment Life Sciences projects, supported by strong client relationships and recognised industry presence. The successful candidate will contribute to project excellence, client growth, work-winning activity and sector leadership—all within AECOM’s structured Career Pathways framework, which provides opportunities to develop technical, commercial, and leadership capability in the areas that motivate you. Key Responsibilities Oversee and support the delivery of multiple Life Sciences projects, ensuring technical excellence and coordination across multidisciplinary teams. Provide authoritative guidance on engineering decisions, applying foresight, innovation, and mature professional judgement. Set and maintain technical standards, quality processes, and delivery methodologies. Lead and coordinate work-winning activity within the Southeast region, including bid strategy, client presentations and sector positioning. Build strong new client relationships while deepening engagement with existing partners. Support development and achievement of the regional financial plan and contribute to pipeline strategy. Actively contribute to AECOM’s wider UK&I and European Science, Healthcare and Tertiary Education community by sharing best practice, lessons learned and technical expertise. Provide specialist input on Life Sciences project requirements such as complex HVAC systems, cleanroom design, compliance frameworks, and sustainable building solutions. Mentor, coach and support engineers within the team, helping develop technical competence and career progression. Promote a collaborative, inclusive working environment aligned with AECOM’s values. We are looking for someone with: Significant experience delivering complex Life Sciences, healthcare, or highly serviced technical buildings. Demonstrable leadership, client-facing, and work-winning capability. Strong organisational, negotiation and communication skills. Qualifications BEng (MEng preferred) in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or related discipline. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
