Director of Sales, Emerging & Scaled - Southern Europe

We’re looking for a Director of Sales to join our Emerging & Scaled (E&S) business. This team supports mid-sized and small businesses with Spotify’s advertising solutions, helping them connect with their audiences and achieve their marketing goals.

In this role, you’ll lead our E&S sales efforts across Southern Europe (France, Italy, and Spain). You’ll manage a team of Client Partners, guiding them to drive growth, build strong client relationships, and deliver meaningful outcomes. Reporting to the Head of E&S Europe, you’ll shape and execute a regional go-to-market strategy, with a focus on building and scaling new business.

We’re looking for someone who understands the Southern European advertising landscape, enjoys building long-term partnerships, and is excited to develop and support a high-performing team.

What You'll Do

  • Set and drive the growth strategy for the E&S business across Southern Europe, sharing market insights with your team
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Client Partners across France, Italy, and Spain
  • Define and scale a new business strategy, building a consistent and effective prospecting approach
  • Partner with SDR resources to strengthen pipeline generation and improve lead flow
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and agency partners
  • Support high-impact pitches, negotiations, and renewals for strategic accounts
  • Identify opportunities to grow advertiser investment and support Client Partners in expanding accounts
  • Encourage adoption of Spotify Ads Manager and performance-led, multi-format campaigns
  • Use measurement frameworks and KPIs to demonstrate impact and guide decisions
  • Partner with Sales Operations to set quotas and optimize account allocation
  • Stay up to date on Spotify’s advertising products and identify opportunities for growth
  • Analyze market trends to identify and prioritize new opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Ops, Product, Marketing, and Measurement teams
  • Represent Spotify at industry events across Southern Europe
  • Foster a collaborative team culture by sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Manage pipeline, forecasts, and sales activity using Salesforce

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • You have 10+ years of experience in the digital media space in Southern Europe, with 5+ years managing a sales team
  • You have a proven track record of building outbound strategies, driving pipeline growth, and scaling first-time advertiser adoption
  • You have experience in new business or acquisition-focused teams
  • You have proven ability to lead meetings with multiple senior stakeholders
  • You have strong relationships with marketers, clients, and agency decision-makers across Southern European markets
  • You have extensive knowledge of performance marketing, including measurement, attribution, and industry trends
  • You have deep knowledge of digital advertising buying and ad tech platforms across direct and programmatic environments
  • You have excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, and can build trust with senior stakeholders by understanding their business needs
  • You have experience in hiring, team building, and mentorship
  • You are highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and bring energy to your work
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • You are fluent in English, with fluency in French, Italian, or Spanish required; proficiency in an additional Southern European language is a plus
  • You are aligned with Spotify’s values and have an interest in Spotify’s products and marketing

Where You'll Be

This role is based in Paris, Milan, or Madrid. 

We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 2–3 times per week and are open to periodic travel across Southern Europe for client meetings, events, and team collaboration.
