We are hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop advanced test systems and mechanical assemblies supporting high-reliability aerospace and defense hardware. In this role, you’ll work across mechanical design, CAD modeling (Creo), and system integration, building solutions used for environmental testing (vibration, thermal, RF, and electro-optical systems).

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to take designs from concept through validation, ensuring performance in mission-critical environments. This is a hands-on role ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and working on highly integrated systems.

Location: Scottsdale, AZ (relocation support available)
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; active clearance preferred open to candidates with the ability to obtain one.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical test systems and fixtures for environmental testing (vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, electro-optical)
Create and maintain 3D CAD models and drawings (Creo / ProE), including GD&T and tolerance analysis
Support system integration, validation, and testing to meet accuracy, reliability, and performance requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and test environments, recommending design improvements
Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams on hardware integration and packaging
Contribute to continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and design optimization

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
5+ years of experience in mechanical design, test systems, or product development
3+ years of experience with 3D CAD tools (Creo / ProE preferred)
Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical design principles
Experience supporting hardware integration, validation, or production environments
U.S. Citizenship required; Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Active Clearance
Experience with mechanical packaging and electro-mechanical systems
Background in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems
Experience with environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal, ESS)
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Windchill, PDM)
Exposure to thermal or structural analysis
Systems engineering or cross-functional integration experience
