Team Leader – PMC

AECOM is seeking an experienced Team Leader – PMC (Site Level) to lead on-site execution of transmission lines, substations (AIS/GIS), and renewable energy integration projects.

The role acts as the Owner’s Representative at site, responsible for day-to-day coordination, supervision, and control of EPC contractors, ensuring that project execution aligns with approved designs, quality standards, HSE requirements, and project schedules.

The Team Leader will lead and coordinate Electrical, Civil & Structural, I&C, QA/QC, and HSE site teams, ensuring seamless execution, interface management, and timely commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Site Execution Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day site activities for substations, transmission lines, and associated infrastructure
  • Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies
  • Coordinate closely with EPC contractors to achieve planned milestones and targets
  • Maintain site-level look-ahead plans (weekly/monthly) and monitor progress
  1. Multi-Disciplinary Coordination (On-Site)
  • Direct and coordinate site teams comprising:
    • Electrical Engineers (Substation, Transmission, Protection)
    • Civil & Structural Engineers (foundations, GIS buildings, cable cellars, tower works)
    • I&C Engineers (SCADA, SAS, and communication systems)
    • QA/QC and HSE teams
  • Ensure all disciplines work in integrated manner with proper interface management
  • Resolve site-level engineering and execution issues in coordination with design teams
  1. Contractor Supervision & Billing Control
  • Supervise EPC contractor activities for compliance with scope, quality, safety, and timelines
  • Verify and certify:
    • RA bills and measurements
    • Work completion and milestone achievements
  • Monitor resource deployment, material utilization, and site productivity
  • Identify delays and implement corrective and recovery actions
  1. Quality Assurance & Control (Site Implementation)
  • Ensure implementation of Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Conduct and supervise:
    • Incoming material inspections
    • Stage inspections and testing activities
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, standards (IS/IEC), and approved drawings
  • Track and close non-conformances (NCRs)
  1. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Enforcement
  • Enforce zero-harm safety culture across all site activities
  • Ensure adherence to approved HSE plans, method statements, and statutory requirements
  • Conduct daily safety briefings, site inspections, and audits
  • Monitor high-risk activities such as:
    • Working at height (tower erection)
    • Heavy lifting (transformers/reactors)
    • Electrical energization works
  1. Construction Supervision
  • Supervise construction of:
    • AIS/GIS substations up to 765 kV (including GIS buildings and cable cellars)
    • HV/EHV/UHV/HVDC Transmission lines (tower erection, stringing, stub foundations)
    • Renewable pooling substations and evacuation systems
  • Ensure proper execution of critical equipment installation and alignment
  • Monitor civil-electrical interface activities
  1. Renewable Integration & Grid Interface (Site Level)
  • Coordinate site activities related to solar/wind/BESS integration with substations
  • Ensure readiness of SCADA/SAS systems and communication interfaces
  • Support grid connectivity requirements and inspections by utilities (SLDC/RLDC)
  1. Stakeholder Coordination (Site Interface)
  • Act as site focal point for:
    • Client representatives
    • EPC contractors and vendors
    • Local authorities and inspectors
  • Conduct daily/weekly progress meetings and coordination reviews
  • Escalate critical issues to project management in timely manner
  1. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
  • Prepare and submit:
    • Daily Progress Reports (DPR)
    • Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports (WPR/MPR)
  • Track physical progress vs schedule and identify slippages
  • Maintain site records, logs, and documentation
  1. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
  • Coordinate and supervise:
    • Pre-commissioning checks and testing
    • Equipment energization and commissioning activities
  • Ensure readiness for grid synchronization and performance testing
  • Verify as-built drawings, punch points, and handover documentation
