Role Overview:
The Director of Professional Services is responsible for leading the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of SimpliGov’s implementation and services organization. This role ensures that services engagements are delivered efficiently, predictably, and with high quality—while driving customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
This leader will oversee a team of leaders, Project Managers and Solution Analysts and will partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to deliver seamless customer outcomes.
This role operates in a fully remote environment with planned travel to customer locations, industry events, and company gatherings. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of delivery leadership, operational rigor, and customer-centric thinking, with experience scaling SaaS services teams in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the Professional Services strategy aligned to company growth goals and customer-focused outcomes
- Lead a high-performing services team by identifying and developing top talent and driving a culture of consultative customer engagements
- Establish clear roles, career paths, and performance expectations
- Partner with Customer Success to ensure optimal customer experiences
- Identify and implement AI-based efficiencies to reduce friction, drive down cost of delivery and improve customer/employee experience
- Monitor and improve customer satisfaction throughout delivery milestones
- Partner with Product and Engineering to provide product feedback to improve efficiency and experience
- Collaborate with Sales & Solutions Engineering to support pre-sales activities, including solutioning and scoping
- Align with Sales & Customer Success on retention and expansion opportunities
- Drive standardization of implementation methodologies, playbooks, and best practices
- Oversee project portfolio health (timeline, scope, budget, risks)
- Improve delivery efficiency through templates, accelerators, and reusable components
- Consistently meet or exceed KPIs, lead the team with data-based learnings and improvements and support regular reporting needs for leadership
- Step in on critical or at-risk projects as needed
Qualifications:
- 8–12+ years of experience in Professional Services, Implementation, or Delivery leadership within a SaaS environment
- 3–5+ years leading and scaling services teams
- Experience delivering workflow-based SaaS solutions (forms, automation, integrations)
- Strong understanding of project/program management methodologies
- Proven track record of managing services P&L, utilization, and delivery metrics
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working with state or local government clients
- Familiarity with GovTech requirements (compliance, procurement, security, accessibility)
- Experience with Private Equity-backed SaaS strongly preferred
