Senior Accountant, General Ledger

Please note that this position is intended as temporary support for a period of approximately three months, helping the team manage ongoing accounting activities. At the same time, we would be happy to stay in contact for potential future cooperation and additional support if needed. Our intention is to build a longer-term working relationship, where we could reach out again whenever the Finance team requires temporary support during periods of increased workload or similar short-term needs.

Your role

To support our Finance team, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our multinational Finance GL team in Katowice. In this role, you will be responsible for independently handling assigned accounting tasks and supporting selected accounting processes for the German and Austrian entities.

You will work as part of a structured finance team and will report directly to the Finance Manager based in Katowice. While collaborating closely with other members of the finance department, the position involves taking ownership of specific operational accounting activities and ensuring that assigned processes are carried out accurately and on time.

Your work will involve handling accounting transactions and documentation using Dynamics Navision 2018.

What you will do

In this role, your main responsibilities will include supporting daily accounting operations and ensuring the correct recording of financial transactions in the accounting system. Your tasks will include:

• Posting and reconciling bank statements
• Posting sales invoices and ensuring their correct registration in the accounting system
• Reviewing and posting accruals and prepayments as part of regular accounting processes
• Reviewing and posting depreciation entries
• Preparing and posting journal entries as required
• Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
• Ensuring that accounting records are accurate, complete, and maintained according to internal standards
• Collaborating with other members of the finance team on ongoing accounting tasks and month-end activities

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in full-cycle accounting
• Experience working with accounting systems (experience with Dynamics Navision will be an advantage)
• Ability to independently manage assigned accounting tasks
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Communicative English language skills required for cooperation within the multinational finance team
• Ability to work in a structured finance team environment and maintain accuracy in day-to-day accounting operations

Additional Information

We are looking for candidates based in the Silesia region (office in Katowice), with a requirement to be present in the office at least 4 times a month. Fully remote work is not an option, and unfortunately, applications from more distant locations will not be considered in the recruitment process.
