Nox Metals is a technology company in Detroit supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.
We need a Senior Account Manager focused on aerospace and defense, owning the largest, most strategic relationships in the company. Long-term agreements, multi-year contracts, multi-million pound commitments, prime and tier 1 programs that run for a decade. These are the accounts that define what Nox becomes. You will:
Own the largest aerospace and defense accounts end to end, primes, tier 1s, major program suppliers, and strategic defense manufacturers
Lead long-term agreements (LTAs), multi-year contracts, master supply agreements, and program-level commitments from first conversation through signature and renewal
Own LTA pricing, indexing, surcharge mechanics, MOQ structures, and contractual terms, you negotiate the deals that lock in years of revenue
Build deep, multi-threaded relationships across procurement, supply chain, engineering, quality, and program management at every account
Run executive-level customer relationships, sit at the table with VPs of supply chain, directors of materials, and program leadership
Manage every active program inside your accounts, every PO, every release, every dock date, every cert, every audit
Lead capacity planning conversations with customers, forecast their needs, align our investment with their roadmap
Own customer audits, supplier qualifications, and program-level quality reviews end to end
Coordinate across operations, supply chain, quality, software, and shipping to make sure every LTA commitment is hit, on time, every time
Bring the customer's voice back to product, engineering, operations, and the executive team every single day
Partner tightly with Outside Sales on new account development inside primes and tier 1s, and own them once they sign
Capture every customer interaction, every contract term, every program detail in our systems, the data is the moat
Always ask questions, never guess when something is unclear
Look at every account, every contract, every program and figure out how to win more of their wallet and serve them better
Work safely on every customer floor and ours, hold yourself to the same standard we hold our team to
You should be:
Senior experience managing large aerospace and defense accounts, primes, tier 1s, or comparable strategic customers in metals, components, or industrial supply
Direct experience structuring, negotiating, and managing LTAs, master supply agreements, and multi-year program contracts
Fluent in aerospace and defense procurement and quality frameworks, AS9100, DFARS, AMS, ASTM, FAR, ITAR, EAR
Strong commercial instincts, you understand pricing models, indexing, hedging, and how mills, distributors, and primes actually transact
Strong technical fluency, you can talk alloys, tempers, tolerances, lead times, and program requirements like an engineer
Skilled at building deep, multi-year relationships across procurement, supply chain, engineering, and quality at large customers
Cracked with AI tools, modern software, CRM and contract management systems, you run accounts like an operator, not like a guesser
Tightly partnered with software teams in past roles, comfortable writing specs, filing tickets, and shaping the tools you use
A team player with a good attitude, you make the company better for everyone around you
High attention to quality, every quote, every contract, every shipment, every audit
Always thinking about how to make processes better, you do not accept "this is how we have always done it"
Absolutely customer obsessed, you carry every customer's program timeline like it is your own
User obsessed, you sit with our internal sales and operations teams too, watch them work, and build the workflows that make them faster
Someone who takes ownership, if it is on your account list, it is your responsibility
Precise under pressure and reliable, primes and tier 1s do not give second chances
Organized enough to run multiple major accounts, active LTAs, and live programs without dropping one
Committed to safety, you follow every protocol on every customer floor and hold our team to the same standard
High agency, you handle big items alone and ask for help when needed
Low ego, you walk the floor, you talk to operators on both sides of the dock, you do the unglamorous work because it needs to get done
Able to travel to customer sites and program reviews as needed
Not afraid to work outside normal hours when America demands it
Never says "that's not my job"
Nice to have:
Existing relationships at major aerospace and defense primes, tier 1s, or program suppliers
Background selling or managing aluminum, titanium, steel, or specialty metals on aerospace and defense programs
Track record closing and growing 8-figure or larger LTAs
Experience inside an aerospace or defense supplier going through customer audits, supplier qualifications, and program-level reviews
Background with DPAS-rated orders, government contract flow-downs, and prime program flow-downs
Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter
This role is full time, in person in Detroit.
