Client Associate - Micro Group
Added 7 hours agoWho We Are
Nava is on a mission to #fixhealthcare. Nearly 160M Americans rely on their employers for healthcare — yet the system is broken, bloated, and dominated by incumbents who resist change. Nava fuses deep benefits expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver a modern, transparent, and affordable healthcare experience.
Founded by seasoned entrepreneurs and backed by leading investors, Nava is one of the fastest-growing benefits brokerages in the country. We’re the first to combine brokerage know-how with proprietary tech like HQ: our AI-powered benefits platform, designed to help HR teams take control of renewals, simplify strategy, eliminate spreadsheet chaos, and empower employees to navigate their benefits with ease.
In a $50B industry hungry for change, Nava is built to win — lowering costs for employers, delighting employees, and reshaping how healthcare works for millions of Americans.
About This Role & Why It Matters
We're hiring a Client Associate - Micro Group to join our Client Success team. This role is built for a benefits professional who genuinely loves being the go-to person for their clients, thrives on owning the full client relationship from A to Z, and believes that small employers deserve the same quality of service, attention, and expertise as the largest, most complex accounts.
This is not a support role or a stepping stone to something else. It's a primary ownership role. You will be the quarterback, the day-to-day point of contact, and the trusted benefits expert for a portfolio of micro group clients (2-50 lives). You'll act as a true extension of your clients' HR teams, stepping in with the knowledge, hustle, and care that makes a real difference for employers and their employees.
If you're someone who lights up when a client calls because they know you'll have the answer, who takes pride in running a tight book of business, and who believes that micro group clients deserve white-glove service, this role was written for you.
This is a fully remote role, with a strong preference for California-based candidates or those with extensive California micro group experience.
What You'll Do
Own Your Book of Business, End to End Serve as the primary point of contact and day-to-day quarterback for a portfolio of micro group clients (2-50 lives). You'll manage the full plan year servicing cycle, respond to client and employee inquiries, coordinate with carriers and vendors, and build the kind of trust that makes clients feel like you're part of their team, not just their broker.
Be the Benefits Expert Your Clients Rely On Step into every client relationship as the subject matter expert. Whether it's walking an HR manager through a renewal, troubleshooting a billing issue, or helping an employee understand their options, you'll bring the knowledge and confidence to handle it.
Execute Core Benefits Servicing Responsibilities Own the full analytical and operational foundation of your book, including:
Spreading and analyzing financials for renewals
Carrier marketing and quoting
Reporting and data analysis
Benefits administration system configuration and maintenance
Eligibility and billing support
Vendor coordination and day-to-day servicing
Lead Renewals and Open Enrollment Drive the renewal and open enrollment process for your clients from start to finish. Build presentations, develop employee education materials, manage timelines, and ensure every stakeholder is aligned and prepared.
Deliver a Client Experience Worth Talking About Collaborate cross-functionally with internal operations, member support, and vendor partners to make sure nothing falls through the cracks and every client interaction reflects the standard of service we believe micro groups deserve.
What You'll Bring
Hands-on brokerage experience is a non-negotiable for this role. If most of the below resonates, we'd love to hear from you.
Minimum 5+ years of recent employee benefits experience on the brokerage side, supporting a high volume of micro group (2-50 ee's) employer clients simultaneously
Active Health Insurance License required
A genuine passion for being the primary point of contact for clients and acting as an extension of their HR teams
Demonstrated experience managing clients through full plan year cycles, including renewals, carrier marketing, and open enrollment
Proven ability to execute Benefits Analyst and Account Management responsibilities independently, including financial spreading, quoting, reporting, and carrier negotiations
Direct experience working inside or alongside benefits administration systems in a client-servicing capacity
Strong Excel and PowerPoint / Google Slides skills with the ability to build financial analyses and client-ready presentations without hand-holding
Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead client calls and own renewal presentations
Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable juggling multiple client timelines and vendor relationships at once
A deeply held belief that small employers and their employees deserve the same quality of service and expert attention as any large group client
What You'll Get
Full ownership of a book of business from day one, with the support and tools to do it well
Access to modern, AI-powered benefits technology that handles the heavy lifting so you can focus on your clients
A collaborative, mission-driven team that values ownership, curiosity, and a high standard of client care
The chance to build a meaningful, long-term career in employee benefits while directly contributing to our mission to #fixhealthcare
