AECOM is searching for a Municipal Civil Engineer to be based in our London, ON office. You understand and significant experience in civil engineering design and construction administration/management principles with a focus on the design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects. Knowledge and understanding of land development (subdivision/site plan) projects is an asset. You will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. You will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. You will be expected to lead and support in the delivery of municipal infrastructure (new and reconstruction) projects to municipal water, wastewater, and storm water sector clients, and support the delivery of land development projects to customers within the private development sector. This is a newly created position.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Design and contract administration of civil systems associated with water and/or wastewater and drainage conveyance and storm water management facilities, road reconstruction, and coordination of supporting electrical and landscaping design services.
  • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates, security reduction estimates.
  • Preparation of project specifications and contract documents.
  • Perform constructability reviews.
  • Lead construction contract administration, including staffing management and coordination. Assist with construction inspections as required. Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; lead and assist with proposal preparation; coordination of approvals with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of land development design services for a range of development types, including plans of subdivision and site plans (residential/commercial/industrial), including knowledge of draft plan and site plan approval processes, is an asset.
