Software Development Engineer (AWS)

**This role can be onsite in Sunnyvale, CA, or can be FULLY REMOTE

What You'll Be Doing

Design, develop, and optimize front-end platform applications focused on document control, collaboration, and document comparison features
Build and integrate custom internal applications with third-party platforms including Slack and Jira
Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and secure distributed systems supporting connected device platforms
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code deployments
Contribute to the architecture and delivery of a workable alpha release of the base platform
Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, product, and platform teams to define and deliver cloud service requirements end-to-end
Lead and participate in architecture and design reviews, owning critical technical decisions and driving the resolution of complex system issues
Troubleshoot and optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency

What We're Looking For

7+ years of professional software development experience with a strong emphasis on front-end development
Proficiency in React, preferably with experience in Amazon's custom React framework or similar enterprise component libraries, as well as Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript
Hands-on experience building collaboration and document management features
Demonstrated ability to integrate third-party platforms such as Slack and Jira into internal tooling
Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and API Gateway
Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation or CDK
Proven track record building and delivering complex features and distributed systems end-to-end
Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices across the full SDLC including coding standards, architecture, code reviews, source control, and operational excellence
Scrappy, self-motivated, and comfortable working in ambiguous early-stage environments
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

Bonus Qualifications

Experience in consumer electronics or connected device environments
Familiarity with AWS IoT Core or IoT protocols
Experience with data streaming platforms such as Kinesis or Kafka
Exposure to document versioning, comparison algorithms, or content management systems
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate)

Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000/K

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
