Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and converting leads into customers. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on sales execution and is crucial in expanding the company’s client base and market presence in the UK.

The BDM will also lead market expansion efforts, form strategic alliances, and contribute to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) initiatives to position the company for sustainable growth in the region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development and Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research, networking, and outbound outreach.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, lead qualification, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and delivery teams to align go-to-market strategies.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline in the CRM system and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and online channels to promote the brand.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.

Market Expansion

  • Establish and expand the company’s presence in the UK by identifying market opportunities.
  • Analyze and adapt the company’s offerings to meet the needs of the UK market.
  • Ensure compliance with the local regulatory landscape and market expectations.

Strategic Alliances

  • Identify potential strategic partners across relevant sectors.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and manage ongoing relationships.
  • Ensure partnerships support the company’s long-term growth and revenue goals.

Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • Support the early phases of M&A activity, including market research and due diligence.
  • Assist in the evaluation and formulation of initial proposals for potential mergers or acquisitions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-7 years in Business Development or Sales roles
  • Understanding of the local UK market and customer dynamics.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within SaaS, tech, consulting, and others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-starter with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Comfortable working towards KPIs and sales targets in a fast-paced environment.
