Job Description: Senior QA Automation Specialist

Responsibilities:

Test Automation Strategy & Framework Development:

Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using open source tools for web, API, and UI testing
Architect scalable and maintainable test solutions that support our diverse application landscape
Implement best practices for test automation, including code reusability, maintainability, and reporting
Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to testing methodologies and frameworks
Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in test automation and quality assurance

Test Implementation & Execution:

Develop and execute comprehensive automated test suites across Salesforce, NetSuite, Microsoft 365, and custom applications
Design and implement end-to-end, integration, and system-level automated tests
Create data-driven test scenarios that thoroughly validate application functionality
Implement performance, load, and security testing using appropriate open source tools
Analyze test results, identify patterns, and provide detailed defect reports with clear reproduction steps

CI/CD Integration & DevOps Collaboration:

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback
Collaborate with DevOps engineers to optimize test execution in automated build and deployment processes
Implement test environment management strategies that support efficient test execution
Develop metrics and reporting to track test coverage, execution time, and quality trends
Contribute to release readiness assessments based on quality metrics and test results

Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership:

Work closely with development teams, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and ensure testability
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA team members
Collaborate with Salesforce, NetSuite, and custom application delivery teams to align on quality objectives
Participate in code reviews for both application code and test automation code
Advocate for quality engineering practices across the organization

Documentation & Knowledge Management:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance with at least 5 years focused on test automation
Expert-level proficiency with open source testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, or similar frameworks
Strong programming skills in at least one of Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript
Extensive experience with API testing and web services testing tools
Experience testing Salesforce, NetSuite, or similar enterprise applications
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automated tests with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Experience with version control systems (Git) and test management tools
Expertise in developing data-driven and keyword-driven test frameworks
Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working in an Agile development environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as an administrator or developer in Salesforce, NetSuite, or Microsoft 365
Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling
Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow
Experience with mobile application testing
Relevant certifications in software testing or quality assurance (ISTQB, AWS, etc.)
Experience with test data management strategies and tools
Background in the energy efficiency or sustainability industry
Experience leading QA initiatives and mentoring junior team members
Knowledge of security testing principles and tools
Experience with AI/ML testing approaches and tools
