Lead Software Engineer
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Lead .NET Software Engineer to help extend and modernise our application ecosystem. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will take ownership of outcomes, guide architectural decisions, and support the growth of junior engineers.
You’ll work across a diverse and evolving technology landscape, contributing to both legacy systems and modern cloud-native solutions as we continue our transition to scalable, containerised platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions
- Take ownership of technical outcomes, driving work from concept through to production
- Mentor and support other developers, uplifting team capability and coding standards
- Contribute to architectural decisions across legacy and modern platforms
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient systems
- Promote best practices in software development, testing, and deployment
About You
You are a confident and capable engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, outcomes-focused mindset.
You will bring:
- Strong experience across the .NET ecosystem, including .NET Framework and .NET Core / modern .NET
- Exposure to both legacy systems (e.g. Web Forms) and modern architectures
- Experience with cloud-based and containerised environments (e.g. Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of software design principles such as TDD, DDD, and dependency injection
- Experience working with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g. Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Octopus, Terraform)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and guide others
We value engineers who can clearly explain their thinking, challenge assumptions, and make well-reasoned technical decisions—not just follow trends.
A formal degree is not required; we value practical experience and demonstrated capability.
