Role Overview
Rocket Now’s Ads Strategy Director will lead and execute the long-term strategy for Rocket Now’s ads business. This role requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in platform strategy, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional execution.
You will partner closely with Product, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Leadership to scale ad revenue, improve advertiser ROI, and strengthen merchant value propositions while ensuring a best-in-class customer experience.
What You Will Do
Define and lead the mid- to long-term strategy for Rocket Now’s ads business, including revenue growth roadmap and structural initiatives to maximize monetization efficiency.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) across product, sales, and operations; build executive-level reporting frameworks and performance governance mechanisms
Drive advanced quantitative analysis to identify revenue opportunities, pricing strategies, yield optimization, and operational efficiency improvements
Partner with Product teams to shape ad products (sponsored listings, performance ads, display formats, etc.), ensuring scalability and measurable advertiser outcomes
Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve advertiser acquisition, retention, and lifecycle value
Identify structural bottlenecks, proactively solve high-impact business issues, and influence executive-level decision-making
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
10+ years of experience in strategy, business planning, ads monetization, consulting, or related fields
Proven experience leading advertising or marketplace monetization strategy within a platform, e-commerce, delivery, or digital media company
Strong track record of owning large-scale initiatives and driving measurable financial impact
Exceptional analytical skills with deep comfort in data-driven decision making and financial modeling
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead complex, cross-functional initiatives
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, and ambiguous environment
Excellent communication in both Japanese and English
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience building or scaling performance advertising products
Experience managing advertising P&L or revenue strategy at scale
Background in consulting (strategy/operations) or high-growth tech environments
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Strong intellectual curiosity — consistently asking “why” to uncover root causes and scalable solutions
Entrepreneurial mindset with resilience and ownership mentality
