Job Description
As the User Experience Researcher, you will be responsible for providing advanced strategic guidance on user research methodologies and prioritizing studies and extracting user insights to align with project objectives.
You are responsible for
- Developing the overall user research plans for the proposition and/or product development projects, including formative, iterative, summative, validation, and claim substantiation studies.
- Independently plan, design, execute, analyze, synthesize, and report studies using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies for both tactical and strategic research. This includes IRB-approved clinical classified studies investigating user experience, as well as more traditional consumer and market research.
- Thoroughly understand the user experience and usability of relevant Philips and competitor products, to guide the project teams in decision making, based on user experience.
- Developing all user scenarios, user requirements, and identify the key drivers of ratings and reviews, and work with cross-functional project teams, including Agile digital teams, to ensure they are met in validation testing, ensuring high consumer satisfaction with our products.
- Reporting to stakeholders on progress at relevant intervals & milestones through written reports and verbal presentations, with a bent on consumer advocacy.
- Challenging the status quo and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, in order to improve, standardize and document our ways of working in a way that enables timely delivery on business objectives while ensuring compliance with medical device standards.
- Supporting the PRC CCE community with feedback on the quality of their work and inspiring colleagues to push the boundaries of what we can learn.
You are a part of
In this role, you will be part of a team of user experience researchers. You will work on a variety of studies and development projects, primarily focused on the development of hardware. In this role you will report to the PRC CCE director.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- A strong drive to put the consumer and user first.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the following fields: Usability, Human Factors; Ergonomics; Psychology; Behavioral Sciences; Sensory Science; Industrial Design; Interaction Design; Human Computer Interaction; Engineering and/or Dentistry, amended with relevant education or experience in consumer and/or user research.
- 5+ years experience in user experience or product research.
- Demonstration of solid research skills from planning to reporting, including the moderation of in-person qualitative research.
- Ability to balance extreme attention to detail with a can-do attitude and pragmatic problem solving for fast study execution.
- You thrive in a fast-changing dynamic and collaborative cross-functional work environment.
- You are a team player who can build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders across different levels within the organization.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with medical device development and/or clinical research as well as training in GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and GDP (Good Documentation Practice) is a strong plus.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 4 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This is an office-based role.
