About Kadince

Kadince (pronounced cadence) is a fully remote American software company founded in 2013. In a nutshell, we build tools to help financial institutions track and manage the good they do in their communities.

Why We’re Looking for Contractors

As our customer base grows, so does our team. We’re committed to delivering top-notch software quality and ensuring every feature release goes smoothly. To keep up with the growing demand and maintain our high standards, we’re looking for experienced Quality Assurance Engineers in Brazil who can help us scale QA efforts, maintain product integrity, and contribute to a collaborative dev environment.

Who We Want to Hire

To be a QA contractor at Kadince, you should have 5+ years of experience in software development or QA engineering. You know how to plan and execute test strategies, create and maintain robust test suites, perform root cause analysis, and communicate your findings clearly. You don’t just test software—you improve it.

You’re great at spotting issues, solving problems, and helping developers build better code. Your detail-oriented nature, curiosity, and passion for quality assurance set you apart.

Since you’ll be collaborating with our US-based development team, strong English communication skills are important. We’ll occasionally have meetings to align on progress, share feedback, or collaborate in real time.

Let’s Geek Out

If you’re geeky like our QA team (hopefully you are), you’ll probably want to know more about our stack and workflow.

Technologies & Tools

  • Frontend/Backend: Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL, Postgres, Redis

  • Testing: Cypress, Minitest

  • DevOps: Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, CircleCI

  • Collaboration & QA Tools: Jira, Rubymine, Sentry

You’ll be using these tools to build, execute, and automate tests while helping us maintain and improve QA documentation and practices.

Our Core Values

Our values aren’t just nice words on a wall (we don’t have one). They drive how we work and who we hire:

  • Integrity – We’re honest with ourselves and others.

  • People – We understand that people are the foundation of Kadince.

  • Care – We do our best work with purpose and intention.

  • Remarkability – We provide standout experiences.

  • Growth – We accept yesterday and improve today.

Even as a contractor, you’ll be expected to uphold these values in your work and interactions.

What You’d Work On

As a QA contractor, you’ll work alongside our development and product teams on:

  • Planning, executing, and automating manual and regression tests

  • Writing test cases and acceptance criteria

  • Identifying, triaging, and tracking bugs

  • Monitoring releases using tools like Sentry and Slack

  • Collaborating on documentation and QA process improvements

  • Mentoring junior team members (as needed)

You’ll receive assignments, collaborate through Slack and Jira, and give feedback directly to your Kadince point of contact. We’re open to your ideas—your voice matters.

Flexibility

This is a fully remote contractor role with flexible hours. You’ll need to coordinate occasionally with our US-based team, but we value asynchronous work and understand time zone differences. You’ll be free to manage your schedule as long as you deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Compensation

Kadince offers competitive USD-based compensation, above typical rates in the Brazilian market. Here’s what you can expect based on your experience and skills:

  • Tier 2: Mid Level (2–5 years): $5–$10/hour

  • Tier 3: Senior Level (5+ years): $10–$20/hour

Compensation depends on experience, technical ability, and English communication. Exceptional performance may lead to higher rates over time.

How to Apply

If you’re excited to work with Kadince, we want to hear from you. When applying, send us:

  • A PDF resume

  • A brief cover letter (max 300 words) explaining why you’d be a great fit

Show us that you’ve taken the time to understand who we are. (Seriously, if you don’t know our name during the interview… that’s a red flag.)

This position is open to candidates living in Brazil.

Compensation: $5 - $20 / hour
