Description
We’re hiring a Working Student Finance to own core accounting and invoicing workflows – not to shadow, not to observe, but to run them. From day one, you'll manage vendor invoices, drive accounts receivable, and gain hands-on experience in month-end closing. You'll work directly with our Finance Lead across the full range of operational finance and actively shape how we build our financial infrastructure as we scale post-Series A.
What You’ll Do
Own invoicing end-to-end: Prepare, send, and track customer invoices. You’ll make sure every invoice is accurate, on time, and properly recorded.
Run accounts payable and receivable: Process incoming invoices, manage payment timelines, and follow up on outstanding receivables to keep cash flow healthy.
Manage employee expenses: Review and process expense reports, ensure compliance with our expense policy, and keep the reimbursement cycle fast and friction-free.
Own bookkeeping and financial records: Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain structured documentation of transactions and receipts – keeping our books clean, audit-ready, and built for scale.
Drive process improvements: Identify inefficiencies in our accounting workflows and propose better ways of doing things. At a scaling startup, nothing is set in stone – we want you to make it better.
Qualifications
Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field at a Swiss university.
Hands-on accounting experience – whether from an internship, a previous working student role, or a part-time position. You’ve worked with real books, not just textbook examples.
Data-driven and detail-oriented: You don't just book numbers – you want to understand what they mean. You're comfortable spotting patterns, asking "why does this look off?", and you take pride in getting the numbers right.
Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and AI-savvy – comfortable with formulas, pivot tables, and working with structured data. You actively use LLMs and AI tools to work smart and efficient.
Ownership mindset – You don't wait to be told what to do. When you see something that's broken or could be better, you flag it and fix it.
Fluent in German and English – German for day-to-day communication with local partners and authorities, English as our company language and for all financial documentation.
Available 40–70% with flexibility around your university schedule.
