Reports Directly to: Human Resources Assistant Manager
Position Overview:
Human Resources Specialist undertakes a variety of HR administrative duties in a designated HR area (policy administration, compensation & benefits, performance management, etc.). This position has a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. The Site Human Resources Specialist will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR projects in their specific area.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Processing payroll: This involves calculating employees' pay based on days worked, deductions, taxes and relevant benefits.
- Maintaining payroll records: maintains accurate records of all payroll transactions, including employee earnings, taxes and deductions.
- Tax compliance: calculates and ensure the on-time payment of all payroll-related taxes.
- Benefits administration: accounts for employee benefits, such as health insurance and retirement plans.
- Monitoring compliance: ensures the organisation complies with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll, taxes and benefits.
- Responding to employee enquiries: serves as the first point of contact for employees with questions or concerns about their salary, benefits or taxes.
- Generating reports: generate reports related to payroll expenses, taxes and other payroll-related data to help the organisation make informed decisions.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in HR or related administrative roles.
Technical Skills: Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of integrity.
Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong time management skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
