The Controller will serve as a finance leader at Provenir, responsible for leading all accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and enabling scalable growth in a global SaaS environment. This individual will bring strong expertise in subscription-based accounting, revenue recognition, and building efficient, technology-enabled finance operations within a fast-paced, high-growth organization with entities in the US, UK, Singapore, India, and Brazil.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Execute the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and/or IFRS, including SaaS-specific revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
Lead external and internal audits, sales and VAT tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
Implement, and maintain strong internal controls.
Accounting Operations
Direct all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
Administer cash management and support treasury activities, overseeing cash balance management and serving as the primary approver for outgoing wire payments.
Ensure accurate accounting treatment for subscription revenue, multi-element arrangements, and deferred revenue
Own and continuously improve the month-end close process to increase speed, accuracy, and efficiency, including working with Netsuite consultant to drive automation
SaaS Metrics & Business Partnership
Partner closely with FP&A and executive leadership to align accounting with key SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, LTV)
Provide actionable insights on revenue performance, gross margins, and cost drivers to inform strategic decisions
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Legal to support contract structuring and deal reviews
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team with 3 direct reports
Help refine clear roles, processes, and accountability across the function
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and operational excellence
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
Demonstrated experience in SaaS or subscription-based business models a strong plus
Strong background in audit management and working with external auditors
Proven ability to build and scale accounting processes in a high-growth environment
Success Profile & Skills
Track record of delivering timely and accurate financial close cycles (target: 5–7 business days)
Willing to take a hands-on approach, diving into details as needed to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
Experience driving automation and improving accounting process efficiency
Strong understanding of SaaS revenue reporting and alignment with business metrics a strong plus
Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities
Expertise in process optimization and building scalable infrastructure
Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
High integrity and ownership
Systems Experience
Working knowledge of NetSuite required
Familiarity with systems such as Brex, OpenAir and Rippling preferred
The stated salary range reflects the expected base salary plus a performance-based bonus for candidates in the United States for this position, and is based on role level, geographic location, skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package
