Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Multiple Shifts Available

Pay: $17.00/hour + up to $1.50 shift differential
Schedule: Full-Time & Part-Time opportunities available

Afternoon/Evening Shift
Overnight Shift

Pyramid Healthcare of Asheville is seeking compassionate and reliable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our residential and sober living programs serving adults in treatment. This is a hands-on, direct care role ideal for individuals passionate about supporting recovery and mental health.

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct client supervision and support, assists with daily programming, and ensures a safe and therapeutic environment. This role works closely with clinical and administrative teams to identify client needs and support treatment goals, including transporting clients as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with client intake and orientation to the program
Monitor and document client behaviors and progress in clinical records
Observe and document self-administration of medications (as applicable)
Support and coordinate client activities and daily schedules
Follow individualized treatment plans and address client needs
Provide safe transportation for clients to appointments and activities
Respond to behavioral or emotional crises using approved interventions
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment
Assist with dietary and daily living needs of clients
Complete all required documentation and training
Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Preferred:

Behavioral health, substance use treatment, or healthcare experience
Experience working with vulnerable populations

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to de-escalate crises and manage risk situations
Professional judgment and problem-solving skills
Understanding of regulatory and ethical standards in behavioral healthcare
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical conduct

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, stair climbing, and use of hands/arms
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 25 lbs
Local travel required (personal transportation required)
Exposure to infectious diseases and potential psychiatric emergencies
Indoor clinical and residential environments with moderate noise levels
