System Support Administrator
The System Support Administrator is responsible for translating user requirements into reliable, efficient system solutions by leveraging proven methodologies and documented standards. The role ensures seamless system operations, interoperability with other platforms, and adherence to high availability and uptime requirements. The incumbent also manages all application interfaces supporting Card Processing systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring an uninterrupted customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Translate user requirements into system solutions that meet business needs and technical specifications
Ensure high system reliability, performance, and minimal downtime for all card processing applications
Manage, monitor, and maintain application interfaces to ensure seamless integration across systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support system enhancements and updates
Conduct structured software reviews, testing, and quality assurance to guarantee system integrity
Support interoperability and compliance with existing architecture, standards, and regulatory requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, maintaining service continuity for end-users
Monitor system performance and propose improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in IT within the financial services sector, with exposure to system administration and application support
Specialized Skills and Competencies
Proficiency in programming languages including PowerBuilder, C++, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, and JBASE
Strong knowledge of database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, Informix, and DB2
In-depth understanding of Prime and Switchware Card applications and underlying data structures
Knowledge of Electronic Banking processes and ISO8583 messaging standards
Experience working with Hardware Security Modules (HSM) in card processing environments
Expertise in software testing, structured reviews, and use of testing tools
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and service quality
