Finance at Duffel
We are a fast paced Finance team looking after all end-to-end financial activities to support the Duffel Group (6 reporting entities, across 4 regions). In this position, you will have the opportunity to own specific areas of financial operations & support across a diverse range of finance activities, drive process improvements, and exercise good business judgment while performing your role. About this Role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing reconciliation processes across multiple accounts & entities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. You will work closely within the finance team, with operations to maintain a streamlined workflow and help investigate discrepancies and partner with product development for process automation. This role is integral to keeping our financial data accurate, reliable, and ready for high-level analysis, supporting our agency operations.
This role is UK based, requiring you to attend our office in Shoreditch twice a week.
What we're looking for in you
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance
A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or currently studying toward one
Experience working in a finance role with a focus on reconciliation or financial operations
Strong Excel skills, including experience using advanced formulas to analyse large datasets
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals (debits/credits) and financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies independently
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
Nice to have
Experience in a fast-growing technology or fintech company
Exposure to writing or modifying SQL queries to analyse financial or operational data
Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems
Familiarity with travel industry financial flows or payment infrastructure
What you'll be doing
Own reconciliation processes across key areas of the business on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data, working closely with internal teams and external partners
Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis
Maintain and review General Ledger activity across multiple legal entities
Improve reconciliation processes and help automate workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy
Document reconciliation procedures and maintain clear operating guidelines
Partner with internal teams to resolve finance queries and support operational projects
Support the statutory audit process by preparing documentation and reconciliation schedules
