About the role

We are looking for a Packaging Regulatory Specialist who will take ownership of regulatory compliance across our packaging portfolio in Europe. This is a standalone, high-impact role, working closely with Global Packaging, R&D, and Sustainability teams.

You will play a key role in interpreting complex regulations and translating them into practical business actions, ensuring our products remain compliant, competitive, and ready for market.

Your responsibilities

  • Own and track European packaging regulations (e.g. PPWR, EPR, packaging taxes, environmental claims)

  • Act as the go-to expert for packaging compliance across the business

  • Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into clear internal guidance

  • Support new product development and innovation projects from a regulatory perspective

  • Perform risk assessments and compliance evaluations across the product lifecycle

  • Represent the company in external bodies (e.g. industry associations, EU-level discussions)

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Packaging, Sustainability, and Finance

  • Support ecolabeling processes (e.g. EU Ecolabel, Nordic Swan, C2C)

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in packaging regulations / regulatory affairs / compliance

  • Strong knowledge of PPWR, EPR, packaging legislation (EU level + country specifics is a plus)

  • Ability to translate regulations into business impact (this is key)

  • Comfortable working independently in a standalone expert role

  • Strong communication skills – able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Fluent in English

Additional information

  • Hybrid model (3 days/week on site in Breukelen)

  • Travel: ~10% (mainly within Europe – e.g. Brussels, Amsterdam, Germany)

  • Reporting to: Global Packaging Manager
