This Position
As more businesses order our conversational robot, which reaches tens of thousands of Americans a month, we need to ramp up production in our El Segundo workspace.
We are looking for additional Robot Production Assistants (Part-Time) to support us.
Timing
Immediate start, Part-Time.
This role may transition to Full-Time over summer vacation.
Responsibilities
Prepare, clean, inspect, and package components
Assist with 3D printer farm operation and maintenance
Assist with basic customer service inquiries
Perform basic computer tasks (data entry, part tracking, updating logs)
Assist with labeling, packaging, and organizing hardware for production
Operate tools such as screwdrivers, hand wrenches, and 3D printers
Track inventory, restock bins, and maintain the organization of workstations
Assist with quality checks on finished subassemblies using standardized checklists
Maintain cleanliness and order in the production and storage areas
Participate in build reviews and learn how improvements are made over time
Required Qualifications
16+ years old and enrolled in a high school or college within commuting distance of our office
Able to work approximately 12-20 hours per week, on average
Potential to work full time over summer break
Must have a source of reliable transportation to and from work
Strong academic performance (e.g., 3.7+ GPA)
Excellent writing and grammar skills for customer service
Proficient with using desktop computers, e-mail, spreadsheets, and word processing programs
Proficient or willing to learn how to operate 3D printers
If you are 18 or older, you must be willing to occasionally drive your personal vehicle for tasks like picking up supplies (mileage will be reimbursed)
If in high school, you must be eligible for a California Work Permit (your school will issue it)
Able to work after school or on weekends (within CA hour limits for minors)
Punctual, responsible, reliable, and organized
Comfortable using basic hand tools
Able to lift up to 50 lbs, with assistance as needed
Able to stand for long periods of time, organize parts, bend over, and perform repetitive tasks with care
Optional Qualifications
Involvement at the school makerspace / manufacturing lab
Experience with 3D printing or basic CAD

This is a part-time role for student employees. All other benefits typically offered to full-time employees (healthcare, 401(k), etc.) do not apply to this position.
This role includes paid sick leave as required by California law.
