This Position

As more businesses order our conversational robot, which reaches tens of thousands of Americans a month, we need to ramp up production in our El Segundo workspace.

We are looking for additional Robot Production Assistants (Part-Time) to support us.

Timing

• Immediate start, Part-Time.

• This role may transition to Full-Time over summer vacation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, clean, inspect, and package components

• Assist with 3D printer farm operation and maintenance

• Assist with basic customer service inquiries

• Perform basic computer tasks (data entry, part tracking, updating logs)

• Assist with labeling, packaging, and organizing hardware for production

• Operate tools such as screwdrivers, hand wrenches, and 3D printers

• Track inventory, restock bins, and maintain the organization of workstations

• Assist with quality checks on finished subassemblies using standardized checklists

• Maintain cleanliness and order in the production and storage areas

• Participate in build reviews and learn how improvements are made over time

Required Qualifications

• 16+ years old and enrolled in a high school or college within commuting distance of our office

• Able to work approximately 12-20 hours per week, on average

• Potential to work full time over summer break

• Must have a source of reliable transportation to and from work

• Strong academic performance (e.g., 3.7+ GPA)

• Excellent writing and grammar skills for customer service

• Proficient with using desktop computers, e-mail, spreadsheets, and word processing programs

• Proficient or willing to learn how to operate 3D printers

• If you are 18 or older, you must be willing to occasionally drive your personal vehicle for tasks like picking up supplies (mileage will be reimbursed)

• If in high school, you must be eligible for a California Work Permit (your school will issue it)

• Able to work after school or on weekends (within CA hour limits for minors)

• Punctual, responsible, reliable, and organized

• Comfortable using basic hand tools

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, with assistance as needed

• Able to stand for long periods of time, organize parts, bend over, and perform repetitive tasks with care

Optional Qualifications

• Involvement at the school makerspace / manufacturing lab

• Experience with 3D printing or basic CAD
